MISSION

Vision

We envisage myelination as the key to human brain functions in health and disease. By providing a better understanding on oligodendrocytes and their myelination in different pathological conditions, our ultimate goal is to develop novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to neurological disorders.

Mission

To achieve this goal and accommodate the needs of our aging society, the current mission of our laboratory is to investigate the role of myelination in neurological disorders with projects focus on

  • DNA damage and repair in oligodendrocytes

  • Radio-pathological correlations of neuroimaging

  • Novel techniques in the histology of the brain

These studies will also train the next generation of medical laboratory scientists and research scientists whose work will be recognized internationally, and they will be well prepared for industry, government and academia careers.
